Trashed & Wasted Toronto

On March 1st members of the Actinolite team will be collaborating with like-minded food professionals on "a charity event rethinking garbage, repurposing trash, and bringing back waste." Our chef's have been working hard to make the restaurant more sustainable, and we can't wait for people to taste what we've been working on for a good cause. Come out and enjoy an illuminating evening of thoughtful food and drink that will remind you that not all garbage should be waste. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at the restaurant. All proceeds from the event will go to Second Harvest Toronto.

Wild Leek & Maple Syrup Festival 2016

“Winter is over, Maple sap has run, and the Wild Leek has sprung. Come join us and our chef friends for our annual Maple Syrup and Wild Leek Festival.” Actinolite along with other culinary teams will be welcoming Spring by setting up shop in the forest to create delicious and interesting dishes made from wild leeks and maple syrup. The event is casual with very few tents and takes place at chef Michael Stadlander’s farm in Singhampton. HOT DOCS: Dinner + Movie

Actinolite will be hosting a five course dinner in a hundred-year-old neo-gothic setting on Sunday May 1st, 2016. The screening of Ants On A Shrimp - Noma’s documentary depicting their Tokyo pop up restaurant will take place at Isabel Bader Theatre at 6:45pm and dinner to follow at Burwash Hall at 8:45pm. Tickets are $190 per person and include the premiere screening and 5 courses with wine pairings. Actinolite’s Chef Justin Cournoyer and team will be preparing each course on stage. Creative Mornings

Chef Justin Cournoyer will discuss Creative Risk on April 29th as part of Creative Mornings breakfast lecture series: As a community of creatives, entrepreneurs, community organizers, and out-of-the-box thinkers, we’re no strangers to taking risks. We're comfortable with (and simply inspired by) taking chances in the face of uncertainty. But what's at stake? The theme will discuss Chef's personal experience with creative risk - his initial discomfort - to his acceptance - to his trust in the inspirational energy in risk.

Actinolite is proud to support young, talented, up and coming chefs as well as your local community food centre. Headed by Omar Jahangir who wanted to gather great young chefs in the city to put on a dinner that has a ton of meaning. Come out on Sunday and show your support.

PEC DINNER

Actinolite is happy to announce our Prince Edward County Harvest Dinner. The Harvest Dinner will take place Thursday November 26th and Friday November 27th at 7pm $125 for 5 courses with PEC pairings. The dinner will be served in a communal setting in the company of winemakers themselves. Restaurants For Change

Actinolite is proud to be a part of an annual fundraising event that brings together some of Canada’s best restaurants to create change in our food system.  On October 21, 2015, 50+ of Canada’s best restaurants donated proceeds from their dinner service to support healthy food access and empowering food programs in low-income communities across Canada.

Pop-Up Terroir 2015: Copenhagen's Kodbyen's Fiskebar at Toronto's Actinolite
